
Chili con carne
500 g ground meat (beef or pork and beef)
1 red bell pepper
1 can kidney beans
1 can corn or 2-3 fresh corn cobs
tomato purée
tomatoes
1-2 carrots, finely chopped
grated cheese
roasted red pepper powder, garlic, onions, thyme, oregano, chili powder
water
Fry the meat, add onions, let roast for a bit. Then add tomato purée, stir well and also let simmer for a bit.
Add chopped bell pepper, carrots, kidney beans, chopped tomatoes and corn and again, let it simmer for a few minutes.
After that add the herbs and spices, if desired also add some water.
I had a craving for cheese, so I spread the grated cheese in the pan and let it melt on low heat, so nothing gets burned or sits in the pan.
If you like, you can add rice to this dish or have it just like it is.
By adding water, you could also make a soup from this dish.
