14 days raw foods detox challenge – day 10

Woot woot! I made it through day 10!
When I got up today, I just had a banana and went to the gym straight away. After the intense workout, I decided to have a nutritious post-workout smoothie made of apple, ginger, banana, dried figs, dried cranberries, real cocoa powder, cinnamon, almond milk and protein powder. This time I left the oats away since I already had the figs.

Cinnamon, by the way, has many wonderful advantages: it tastes great and also boosts your metabolism and digestion. Great reasons to add it anywhere I can.

For lunch I tried something new. I have heard of salad dressings with fresh orange juice so I figured I might give it a shot.
For the dressing I used:

juice of 1 orange
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 tsp acacia honey
1/2 tsp horseradish
chili, thyme, basil, pepper, salt

I poured it over a simple green salad containing mache, rocket and olives.
The dressing turned out to be a very refreshing and tasty mix of sweet, sour, salty and spicy. I’ll make it again!

We have a juicer and I love it. Yes, I LOVE it! It makes smooth juice and the pulp is so dry, you just don’t believe, it has been a fruit or vegetable before!
We are always tossing in what comes to our hands and tonight we made juice of oranges, apples, celery, carrots and ginger. Look at the pretty result:
