In July 2012 I saw pictures of me and I was completely shocked. I decided then, I needed to do something and started to read about nutrition, healthy diets, how to lose weight without being malnourished. I don’t like being hungry and most people around me don’t like me being hungry, either. Seems, I get quite grumpy then. So, eating half, eating less or anything as self destructible as starvation is nothing to try out. I read lots of girls starving themselves skinny: ladies, that’s NOT an option!
I began eating clean, trying out some paleo recipes, too, and started to do more sports.
The key to losing weight is to move (at least 3 times a week) and eat well.
I lost 40 lbs in 8 months (I am no expert but even my doctor said, I was doing well) and I feel wonderful by now!
According to this, I felt like sharing my recipes with other people who try to achieve something like this, too. My whole diet is based on healthy ingredients and great taste because I am in love with food. I love vegetables, legumes, fruits, I cut out almost all carbs for dinner and I do not eat any processed foods at all. I was then what is considered a “flexitarian”:
“…Someone who’s diet is primarily plant-based but occasionally eats animal products, also called semi-vegetarian…”
In February 2014 I decided to go fully vegan because I experienced many great developments in my health and my all over well being.
Being vegan, I need to take care that I get all needed nutrients, so again I switched my “diet” to what is known as HCLF – high carb low fat. I try to include as many raw foods as possible in my daily routine and still avoid all processed foods and most fats (except cold pressed olive oil, avocados, nuts, etc.).
As I have already mentioned, moving is the key: I try to walk at least 1 hour per day, work out as often as possible (running 2-3 times a week, yoga 20 minutes 2x a week) and keep a steps tracking device in my pocket.
So, this is my story. I hope, I can inspire anyone with this diary.
